A COVID Love Story

Ben Thompson met Sophie Sunar not long after the dreaded COVID lockdowns began in 2020.

Ben’s Bondi Road shop, Charlie Middleton (more on Ben tomorrow) sits opposite the Tin Pin Bakery where Sophie was working at the time. There’s romance in that set up for a start. (Sophie is now working as a barista at Lox Stock on Glenayr. More on Sophie coming up.)

Their friendship developed slowly and a week after they became a couple in late 2021, they both came down with COVID and were forced to decide if they were going to jump in, or jump out.

Isolating together proved to be the right call, and a year later Ben popped the question.

Sophie said yes and now they have a wedding to plan.
