Alex Van Den Berg

This was a very happy-meet. Dutch-born Alex was very patient with me as I stumbled through the little bit of his language that I have learned since our daughter has been living in the Netherlands. And I have apologised in advance for my efforts for when we bump into him again. We chatted for a while (in English) and then we got his story.

My Bondi Story?

I actually lived here back in '06-'07 and after becoming recently single decided Bondi was a nice spot to return to!

I'm a bit of a night owl, and hence gravitate to the sunset rather than the sunrise, so my workday mornings comprise of a mixture of shirt pressing, coffee, shave, and shower, and my weekend mornings of washing, exercise, and walk to the beach for a swim (if the weather is summer!)

I'm a basketball nut, and will dissect every aspect and nuance of the game, at any given opportunity!

I really enjoy hanging out with my mates, playing some pool at the Beach Road, or the Nelson Hotel at the Junction. I've really only just started playing, but love the competition, meeting new people, and the motivation to get better with each game (a little of the basketball juice is still flowing through my veins).

I thoroughly enjoy walks in solitude or with a buddy, but if you walk with me you'll have to excuse the moments where I drift off to sniper in a on a photo opportunity! I go by the intagram @kornelusalexander (my first and middle names) where you can see some of my visions of Bondi and more!

I'm a Dutchy born and bred which is probably why I am drawn to deep, dissecting conversations about anything and everything, but I've adopted a large chunk of Aussie larrikin and hence love a good joke and laugh! 😊
