We are always drawn to an open garage. You never know what is happening in there. Garages around Bondi are being used for all kinds of activities, from gyms to art studios and general tinkering spaces but rarely cars (they’ve gotten too big while the garages have remained small!).

Immigration agent Brendon, who has lived on Ben Buckler for 20 years, uses his to fix the locals’ bikes. As we were leaving a young neighbour came by to collect the one that Brendon had been fixing when we met him. The boy was very happy with the results.
