Councillors John Wakefield, Paula Masselos, Ingrid Strewe and Dominic Kanak addressed the public gallery immediately after the extraordinary council meeting that was held at 8am on Saturday 30th at the Waverley Council Chambers. 

The meeting was held to ‘debate’ the rescission motion that was put forward by the above councillors who are opposed to the progressing of the concept plans, such as they are, for the refurbishment of the Bondi Pavilion. The motion to progress those plans was passed at the 19th April council meeting.

There is a lot of passion around this issue as evidenced by the large early morning turnout at the meeting as well as the roof-raising response to the defeat of the motion. Not to mention the number of submissions against the current plans received by council on the subject.
