If you have been down to the promenade recently you would know that the Head On Photo Festival is on again.
Head On celebrates photography in all its forms and the photographers, emerging and established, behind the work. The festival takes place over several locations across the city. The selection process for the works shown is merit-based which means that all photographs are submitted without names attached.
The first Head On was in 2004 and started with a few photographers passionate about the medium. 20 years on it has grown to over 900 Australian and international photographers (from 52 countries) showing in innovative exhibitions in galleries, public outdoor spaces and cafés, with workshops and events throughout the year. The festival has been produced by the non-profit Head On Foundation since 2009.
