We were on the promenade for an evening stroll a few weeks ago. There was a particularly lovely sky so we were looking for an interesting subject to take advantage and lo and behold Krystal appeared before us!
What is your Bondi story?
“Within days of having my heart broken and needing a new start, I packed my things up, put my dog in my car, and left Wollongong to start again in Bondi.
Born and bred on the South Coast I’ve always been a local there, but I felt as though it had served its purpose. The energy had shifted, the faces were changing, and so was I. I had a position available in the city for work to transfer to at the time, but accommodation was limited since I own a big dog. Nonetheless I was welcomed into the place I now call home. Making new friends from all over the world, I got to learn how safe others from Brazil, Hawaii and America who come to Australia actually find it. Between the politics, walking up the street, and going into a shop without the fear of being threatened or shot.”
What does the first hour of your day look like?
“Doing shift work on the railways around the city, the first hour of my day changes depending on whether I’m on day or night shifts. However, always and first thing is puppy cuddles, followed by a coffee, and watching my latest subscriptions on YouTube while I get ready.”
Is there one thing you’d like to people to know about you?
“I hope my friends and family know how much I miss them everyday, I’m sorry I left so soon. I was needed in another place for now and just know I have healed so much for the better.”
