Marty Bowen

Architect Marty Bowen (son of architect Susan Freeman) was taking his new born son Teddy for a stroll on the promenade when we met him. He was with an old friend of ours Ken Brandon who made the introduction.

Back in April we photographed a very pregnant Harriet, Marty’s partner and mother of Teddy, so we really enjoyed putting the baby to the pregnant belly!

I grew up in Bondi. My parents were living here for a while before I was born. Once I moved out of home I lived around Sydney and overseas, but eventually came back to Bondi. I started surfing about age 10 and worked at the surf school for a number of years, this was a big part of wanting to move back to the beach - I love that people come here and have their first (or 1000th) experience in the ocean.
