Driving along Gould Street we spotted Michael walking the other way. We pulled over immediately as we had been keen to have a chat with him for a while. While we were chatting 3 others came up to Michael to say hello. Including the parking ranger who didn’t give us a ticket, as he could have. There is something about Michael.

Michael is a well known personality around Bondi. He has lived here for 15 years.

Back in the day Michael was a concert pianist who studied in London under Louis Kentner. While he was living in London he stayed with the brother in law of Yehudi Menuhin. These are the upper echelons of the musical world. He says his muscle memory has gone now for playing but is “happy enough”.

It’s Michael’s birthday on Saturday and he has decided to go to see Barbie.
