Here is someone that we have been seeing around the traps for just about all of the years we have lived in Bondi. Jesus has lived in Bondi for 22 years, [Ed: Who’d have thought!] … having arrived from Brazil in 1994 to participate in a South American festival. Jesus took one look at all of the topless girls on Bondi Beach (there were more in those days) and that was it, he never looked back and has been here ever since. “It’s the best place in the world!” [This doesn’t convey his thick and lovely Brazilian accent]

Mestre Jesus was the Brazil national capoeira champion at the time and is still very dedicated to the sport.
