Lorraine (aka “The Lorranger” for all of those years when she used to sit sentinel on a deck chair outside of her joint on Brighton Boulevard) came to Bondi for 6 months in 1970, and stayed for 49 years. Even though these days she calls Pagewood home, her spirit lingers in these parts. She has land rights on her pozzie on the grassy knoll at North Bondi, where she can be seen whenever the sun appears.

Lorraine loves the the water and early mornings when there’s no-one here. She reckons it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Lorraine still goes to the boys in the fruit shop [Nio & Tony’s] and to get her hair cut up at Ben Buckler. She’s earned her People of Bondi stripes.
