People of Bondi | Murray Cox
Murray has been a Bondi local for the last 10 years although he pretty much grew up in the area. He lived in Darling Point as a child but spent all his spare time down here at the beach.
Before moving back to the east Murray had a semi in Erskinville which had a roof top garden and a studio in the back yard. He swapped that for a two bedroom apartment so he could come and live in his spiritual home.
He really loves living close to the beach as he can just slip out of his apartment and wander down the road to the water, waving to friends and acquaintances as he goes. Within a minute he is in a “genuinely wild place.” He says that swimming across the bay is “freeing for the spirit.”
Murray is a spokesperson for Friends of Bondi Pavilion.
