People of Bondi | Ross Dawson
When futurist and entrepreneur Ross moved to Bondi seven years ago he felt that he had found his “final resting place.”
Ross is enthusiastic and quick to act. One of the first things he did when he got here was to set up the Bondi Creative Entrepreneurs group. Not long after that came Bondi Innovation Alliance ”to connect and catalyse all the incredible innovators and entrepreneurs who live here.”
“I’m motivated by making a positive impact on the world and being at the edge of change and evolving humanity. The work and energy required for that is fuelled by being in the ocean every day.”
“Now that travel is back I have everything I need: living in Bondi next to the ocean, and being able to see and experience what is going on around the world.”
“I start the day slowly, immerse myself in information, make a 12-ingredient smoothie, then get a coffee at the local cafe.”
Ross knows how to keep busy. If he’s not travelling to distant shores for speaking engagements and running multiple ventures, he’s writing. Thriving on Overload, Ross’ fifth book, offers practical insights on how to not be overwhelmed by, but to build a positive relationship with, the enormous amount of information that is “part of work and daily life.” And how to use this relationship to excel in all that you do.
His next book is not yet finalised, but the major themes of Ross’ work currently are “Humans + AI and Amplifying Cognition.”
We met Ross for a chat at The Depot.
