People of Bondi | The Tan Family

Here, taking a late afternoon swim at the beach, is uber local Eugene “Uge” Tan, pictured with his wife Debbie and two wriggling boys Jet and Spike.

We’ve known Uge for a long time. He is a photographer and the founder of 16 year old Aquabumps, a website and daily email dedicated to capturing early morning beach life … with a particular focus on Bondi. When we moved the tiny REMO Store away from Brighton Boulevard we sublet the space to Uge, but he quickly grew out of it. You can now find his sleek HQ and Aquabumps Gallery on Curlewis Street near the corner of Gould. It’s a nice place. Uge does great work. We always send our Airbnb guests there.
