Messina Gelato Bondi opened on Hall Street in 2013. Australian artist Jeremyville, who lives in New York, was commissioned to do all the site-specific murals that have become so recognisable and synonymous with the Messina brand.

Jeremyville spends time getting to know each neighbourhood before he creates the mural for that suburb’s Messina.

And that brings us to Roman.

We have known Roman for just over 25 years (he’s our son and his birthday was a few weeks ago). He was born in New York but has spent most of his life in Bondi. He has been such a fixture here that he got noticed by the artist who featured the then 14 year old Roman in his Bondi Messina mural.

Roman, who is a very keen surfer and artist (see his website HERE) is spending the year working and travelling along the Western Australian coast. It was time to break free.
