We were lucky enough to to have a get together with Scott yesterday to hear more about Shapeable, his company that could help you build your “unique, modular, AI-enabled platform” and transform “collective intelligence into collective action”.
You can also spend some time with Scott and his team if you go along to the Bondi Innovation Forum tomorrow at the Pavilion. Shapeable is a lead sponsor of the event and they are making themselves available to anyone who wants to hear how they can assist you in your global mission.
Of course we asked Scott the BO questions:
What is your Bondi story?
We moved back from London in 2002 and bought a home on Sir Thomas Mitchell Road. We wanted to live with the energy and fun of Bondi, and be able to walk to the beach. My wife, Sheridan Jobbins, and I then had our ring ceremony in the Bondi Pavilion in 2004. (After getting married in a hot air balloon over Alice Springs the year before!) My friend and colleague, Mike Hanley, lives across the street. It was because of him we both worked at the World Economic Forum in Geneva Switzerland where we also lived for 10 years. I'm originally from Wales. When I got my Australian citizenship I joined the 'Bergs and went on to achieve my long-service swimming membership. We came ‘home’ to Bondi to be with family, and this is where our company, Shapeable, is incorporated. So many of the team come from here. Karmen King, Adrian Shawcross, Vadim Vichniakov. In fact, our Tech Lead Travis Hensgen is the only original member not from Bondi!
How do you spend the first hour of your day?
This always begins with me making a cup of tea for my wife – screenwriter, TV presenter, and fellow director of Shapeable, Sheridan Jobbins. Then the lure of the beach, ocean, and sunshine takes us out into the world. Sheri walks the promenade with our dog Pam, whilst I run the beach and have a swim, and then we swap for the return journey. On weekends we often head over to The Depot for a breakfast burrito that we eat on the grass overlooking the beach. It keeps us well.
Is there one thing you’d like people to know about you?
I founded Shapeable in 2019 after leaving the World Economic Forum, where I had been on their leadership team for 7 years, responsible for their digital platform innovation. Shapeable is a modular, AI-enabled platform for mission-driven networks of organisations who are solving global issues. Our vision is … Empowering you to shape the world.
Tell us more about Shapeable and your involvement with the forum:
We are a lead sponsor of the Bondi Innovation Forum. As a company registered in Bondi, but with a global customer base, to whom we are delivering next generation AI services, we felt the theme of this year was important to be a lead sponsor of. We consider Shapeable to be sponsoring local, going global, with AI. We’ll be there at the event and available to talk about how AI can be built into digital products, and particularly for social innovation and to enhance the collaboration within networks. Also available to share ideas are Travis Hensgen our Technical Director, Adrian Shawcross our Creative Director, and Sheridan Jobbins our Narrative Director.
