Tammi Ceppi

You know a dog lover when you see one. It was obvious that Tammy falls into that category by the way she jumped at the opportunity to give our dog Olive a cuddle. She has actually made a business out of it. She has a now-official side hustle that she calls Bondi Bark and Stay.

“This is my first email with my Bondi Bark and Stay email address … exciting!!

I was born in South Africa and have lived in Bondi for 20 Years. Just as I was considering a move to a different suburb, I met my then to be hubby from Chile who absolutely loves, and always will, Bondi and this is where we settled and call  home.

My main gig is teaching in the early childhood space.  My business called Playball kids sports  offers  early childhood education through movement, sport and wellbeing. I deliver the program into child care centres and am now expanding across Australia.

I also teach a number of children privately.  A lot of them are physically delayed  / need help to catch up developmentally / overweight / need to developed self confidence / or simply need a stronger foundation of skills that will make learning at school easier when they start school.  Some of them have NDIS funding.

I love my work with all my heart and have found it easy to stay in the game as an educator, constantly learning and growing as much as the children do.

I have one daughter who is now 15 and moved from Bondi Beach Public up the hill to Rosebay Secondary.

Having a teenager, created more time in my world which I have filled collaborating (in a voluntary capacity) with 3 other South African women,  in a charity called The Angel Network. This group has grown to over 150 women,  all of who reside in  Bondi/ Rosebay and surrounding  suburbs . Each of these women is committed to make the lives of others easier  whether it’s to cook and deliver meals for those in need, help settle refugees, help furnish new homes for women escaping domestic violence. The group and the difference it makes, sparks a lot of joy!

During the months of December and January, when school closes,  I have my summer break.  Because I have more time on my hands, I  decided to do some dog boarding as a side hustle.  We have the sweetest labradoodle called Cookie and we are committed to helping her live her best life in Bondi.  I have always loved dogs so decided that since I was already  well known by so many in this community, to give it a go.  Bondi Bark and Stay (Oodle Getaway) took 2 week to completely book out. I love the fact that my community can leave their well loved dogs  with someone that they know/ know of and trust. I am thankful to my community for trusting me with their kids and dogs and I feel extremely grateful everyday  to live in Bondi and live the life I do.

Thats my story …….. in a nutshell 🌻 [Ed: What a nutshell!]
