The Bondi Beach Graffiti Wall

The Bondi Beach Graffiti Wall

Until it became a formalised space for budding street artists to channel their work in the late 80s, Council was paying nearly $400,000 a year in graffiti removal. An application process started about a decade ago with spaces awarded on merit and community involvement.

The curation has become more “Instagrammable” over recent years (how to upset the “traditional” graffiti artists 101) and the wall has become a drawcard card of its own.

To learn about the metamorphosis of the wall go to Bondi Beach Graffiti Wall HERE. They have a detailed list of the artists involved and a complete gallery of murals past and present.
