Blue-Ringed Octopus

This little creature is a blue-ringed octopus (super venomous and deadly) and was found at the north end of the beach near the kids’ pool yesterday. They don’t come this way too often (thankfully) and as you can see its appearance attracted some attention from the lifesavers and others.

Apparently the procedure is to call WIRES when these kinds of things turn up, although one of the guys watching suggested that Coogee might be a good spot to let it go. Now now!
