Voice to Parliament Community Forum
This community event at the Pavilion last Wednesday night was an opportunity to learn more about the referendum coming up in a few months. The event was well attended and there was a positive energy in the room.
The panel included:
Ruby Langton-Batty, First Nations lawyer and Biennale Sydney board member
Craig Foster, human rights activist, NSW Australian of the year 2023 and former Socceroo
Michael Ingrey, Chief Executive Officer, Inner Sydney Empowered Communities
Councillor Paula Masselos, Mayor of Waverley
Uncle Vic Simms from La Perouse gave the acknowledgement to country. He was one of two elders from La Pa who spoke some uncomfortable truths relating to the local history.
