Waverley Municipal Council Emblem

Waverley Municipal Council Emblem

Bondi History

Adopted in 1915, this is (or at least once was) the emblem for the Waverley Municipal Council. Those bug-eyed fish are meant to be dolphins (a common inclusion given their fabled friendship to man) and that’s Neptune’s trident in the middle (something with which he could shatter rocks and cause earthquakes).

Ocean symbolism would have seemed appropriate given how much of this municipality borders the sea.
