Bat Lady
Bat Lady
On our way out on Saturday evening we came across a fruit bat that looked in distress clamouring its way across the footpath toward the nearest tree. We called WIRES who in turn handed the job over to Sydney Wildlife Rescue and a few hours later volunteer Charmian arrived with her head torch in search of the bat. Happily it seemed to have moved on. Charmian’s best guess was that the animal was stunned when it bumped into a house nearby. Their instinct is to climb a tree as they can’t launch themselves from the ground.
It was a cold wet and windy night and Charmian had come from Neutral Bay. There are some really good people out there!
