Roscoe Street Mural
This Roscoe Street mural has become a sacred Aboriginal site. It features 5 important members of the Aboriginal community, activists who have initiated significant change in our history. They are Eddie Mabo, Mum Shirl, Faith Bandler, Charles Perkins and Vincent Lingiari.
The mural was painted in 2013 by renowned Wiradjuri artist Edward Paul Davis with local artist Etienne Cohen by his side. The mural also includes handprints of Bondi elders and Aboriginal schoolchildren from western NSW.
Unfortunately the mural is slated to become a glass window as part of the development of what is now the Wayside Chapel but there is a push to have it heritage listed to save it for future generations.
