Matthew “Melnunnie” Brettschneider Mural
Wiradjuri Ngiyampaa artist Melnunnie’s work is titled “Galari Bila Ngurambang” (Lachlan River Country)”.
Matthew describes this work on his Instagram page:
“The green lines show how the river flows through Country, with all the creeks and billabongs flowing out from the life of Country, like a heart flows blood and oxygen throughout a body to create life. On Wiradjuri Country, the life and energy come from the three rivers: The Galari (Lachlan), Murrumbidjeri (Murrumbidgee), and the Wambool (Macquarie). This is why the river is shown as three lines in my art. The white lines show the energy and life of Country resonating around the river.”
There’s a mesmerising video of Matthew creating this mural on Instagram. See HERE.
