Ronni is a hard woman to pin down. We would be hard to pin down too if we had started and now run Australia’s leading food rescue organisation. Back in 2004 Ronni had an idea about how to deal with the food waste from her then events business. To Ronni it was an obvious problem that had on obvious solution. And that is how and when this now national food rescue charity OzHarvest came to be. OzHarvest takes quality food that would otherwise go into landfill and deliver it to organisations that help people in need. You would have seen their yellow vans zipping around the place amongst their network of donors and the organisations they supply. Organised hithering and thithering.

Working with passionate team members, Ronni is on a mission to educate and inspire others to make the necessary changes to reduce food waste by half by 2030. (Good to have a goal!)

“Force of nature” is not a term that can be bandied about but we think it applies to Ronni.

How does someone like Ronni stay centred?

“I try and walk along the promenade every morning or walk to my Pilates class three times a week. That’s my first hour of every day filled with gratitude that I live in Bondi”.
